Dear Selection Panel,

I am applying for the Technology Manager (AI) role because it brings together the areas in which I have built my career: engineering leadership, enterprise AI platforms, technology strategy, operational maturity, governance and organisational capability.

Across Unisys, Amazon Web Services, Oracle, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Tech 4 Humanity, I have helped complex organisations move from emerging-technology interest and isolated pilots toward secure, governed and supportable enterprise capability.

At Unisys, as APAC CTO and Head of Strategic Foresight, I led regional technology strategy and a solutions engineering capability of more than 15 people across six countries. I shaped AI, cloud and service-transformation roadmaps and directed secure LLM and agentic AI pilots with emphasis on explainability, privacy, cybersecurity and supportability.

At AWS, I advised more than 50 CIOs and senior technology leaders across Australia and ASEAN on cloud modernisation, AI and machine-learning adoption, resilience and enterprise platform strategy. Earlier roles at Oracle and HPE strengthened my public-sector architecture, service management and operational-readiness foundations.

I would bring to UNSW a practical leadership style that connects strategy with execution across product management, enterprise architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, privacy, risk, vendors, executives and operational teams.

As a UNSW alumnus, I understand that the University is both a complex institution and a public trust. The opportunity is not simply to implement AI tools, but to build institutional capability and move safely from experimentation to sustainable enterprise use.
